St. Andrew by the Sea

This is a superbly located, waterfront campsite run by the Kiwanis Club. We'll stay two nights as there is lots to see and do here.
Down the road  (a 25 min. walk), we found a quaint, New England style town and more great waterfront views.

Dating from 1781, this town is full of historic buildings. St. Andrews was settled by United Empire Loyalists following the American Revolution. Some of these settlers even dismantled their homes in Maine and brought them here aboard barges.

The main town has been designated a National Historic District and many of the more than 250 homes that are 100 to 200+ years old, have been restored.
Needless-to-say, this is a charming and beautiful seaside town.

The colours are changing and fall is in the air. We used our furnace for the first time today so we are toasty warm.

  1. You certainly seem to be enjoying Nova Scotia! We received your postcard yesterday. Thanks! It was very sweet of you to think of us. I'm just finishing up at work- Thursday is my last day. Then we will start getting the house ready for our winter tenants.
