Yes, we stopped for a cuppa with Rita - but no she wasn't there today. The tearoom is delightful and the menu simple, a fabulous quiche and spinach salad, followed by delicious desserts. The only beverage on the menu is tea so we enjoyed a cup of Rita's blend.
This is an old school house that Rita purchased in 1980 to live in with her family. In 1994 she opened it as Rita's Tearoom. Nicely designed and tastefully furnished it includes a great gift shop with many Cape Breton creations in addition to Rita's music, tea and goodies.
The teapots and china were made for her in England and are charming.
We'd certainly recommend a visit here when you are out this way.
