Annapolis Royal Historical Garden

Another of the great garden that we were introduced to by the TV program "Recreating Eden".
Lots of colour, even in September but unfortunately for Sandy lots of mosquitoes too......

This archway is made entirely of wood that has been bent to form the arches. At the end of the archway is a fountain made of huge granite pieces.
An incredible variety of plants including a vegetable garden and fabulous smelling rose garden. In the midst of the garden stands an exact replica of an early Acadian home - this area was settled and farmed by the Acadians who reclaimed farmland by an innovative structure they developed to let the rain water drain off the land but keep the salt water out. They lived in harmony with the first nations people who inhabited this area.
Will our front garden of mixed heathers look like this one day?????????????
